About Charlie Chaplin

Charlie Chaplin (1889-1977) was a comedic British actor and one of the biggest stars of the 20th century’s silent film era. His father abandoned Charlie’s family very early, his mother – a singer herself – was barely able to support the family.

Becoming an actor had always been Charlie’s ultimate goal, and it was in his blood. He was 5 years old when he performed on a stage for the first time.

Today, his character “The Tramp” is iconic. Everybody knows the little man with the bowler hat, moustache, and cane. With his sweet charm, quirky pantomimes and funny movements he will keep making people laugh for many more decades.
